Brief History: rik was born into a family that celebrates individuality, and for that he is extremely lucky. He was born in Finland, where his mother grew up and attended private school, but made the move to England when his grandfather (on his father's side) became ill. At that time he was 5 years old. As a muggleborn, Erik was never quite certain how he was able to save the family dog, Pip, from death by car. One minute Pip was headed for the under side of a tire, and the next he was by Erik's side. His parents, never really making religion a priority, thought nothing of 'miracles' and instead believed Erik had made up a story for attention. Erik was constantly being overshadowed by his brother, Nikolas, who was a bit of an overachiever, but had no sign of magical ability. Erik always had a hard time believing there was nothing better for him than public school and the football sessions his father made him attend (he was not as athletic as his brother, but was forced to play). When he held his Hogwarts letter in his hand, three things occurred he'd never forget: his mother fainted, his father chuckled, and his brother changed the subject to tennis.


Plot Thus Far: This term for Erik has been like none other. After making an enemy of Emilia Hawthorne, Erik was ambushed by the girl and her protector Wesley Broderick (wesleybroderick) outside of the portrait hole. Erik was unwilling to fight until Wes threatened his muggle brother, Nikolaus. During the fight, Erik was hit with crucio. The only people who knew of this have left the castle, including his best friends - Phil Davenport, Dustin Alden. Erik fell in love for the first time with girlfriend Juhi Saraf, but she has also left. As he was recovering from being hit with an unforgiveable, Erik was informed of his muggle brother's murder by Death Eaters. Since then, Erik has been forced to grow up sooner than he'd have liked, haunted by flashbacks and nightmares and telling no one of his struggle. Erik continues to be attacked by Wes, the two have formed a bitter rivalry that no other pair has matched. Erik was reminded on his brother's death constantly by Emilia and her protege Ophelia Ballard, but put a positive spin on one of their pranks by naming a lion in the window Gregorious. Erik used to spend Wednesday afternoons drinking tea with Fi McFinn, but those days have ended. Erik is an active member of Dumbledore's Army and has made new friends as the term pushes on. He is quite fond of Avis "Abfab" Abernathy (avis_abernathy), and is also on good terms with Thatcher Hale (cthatcherhale), Merlin Flanagan (ohsweetmerlin), and Tatiana Winters (tatiana_w). He used to idolize Sean Brightwell, but with the bloke gone, he now turns to Charlie Kerrigan (le_charlie) for all things fun. He still believes himself to the be rock skipping champion of Hogwarts, still attempts to gain control of the moving staircases, and is falling back into his old hobby of singing.


Personality: Erik has a long fuse, but when he finally gets angry, he becomes stubborn and a little irrational. He's always quick to listen to a friend in need, but he tends to dominate conversations due to years of being overlooked. He has a tendency to make everything appear larger than it really is, but carries himself with dignity. He tries to never back down from a challenge, but can be easily influenced by people who know how he thinks. He is frustrated by confusion, and hates to not be 'in the know'. His biggest love is adventure - he'll do anything if provided with his favourite candy (Bertie Bott's). He often cares too much, blinding stepping into danger to defend the people he loves. He is very proud of his Finnish half - can speak it fluently - and as of late has been unpredictable with moods. He's not quick to judge, he's quite friendly to most, and his independence and strength make him one of the most complex personalities in the game.
